When I was young, people used to say
Someday the right one will come your way
Could be tomorrow, could be today
But when he does, you'll know it right away, till then I'll
Chorus:
Take my time, lookin' for the right one, I need a lover that stays around
I'm gonna take my time, lookin' for the right one
I need somebody to tie me down
And so I waited patiently, will it be like my fantasy
The only problem I can't foresee, will I find him or will he find me
And if he does, will he understand, that I've the future already planned
And I'll do everything that I can
Won't take no chances, won't show my hand, I'm gonna
chorus
Oooh, I need a lover, oooh, to tie me down, oooh, I need a lover around
(Instrumental break)
I'm gonna
chorus repeats out

Sheena Easton Take My Time (02:31)
Sheena Easton Take My Time
Well ,Lucy, I'm 24 so I don't remember either. But my mum was a fan and she told me Sheena's career took a nose-dive in the UK so she accepted a deal with an American label who gave her shit songs which went down a storm in America but alienated her even further from her British fans. She never even performed in the UK again. Her carer was in ruins.

Sheena is very big in America. Who cares if she left Britain for America. If you're going to make it big in show biz, you got to make it big in the States. Everywhere else doesn't count for shit. Besides, Sheena is now an American citizen.

I have loved this song since the first time I heard it. And it has held up very well with time. Great beat - just a little off and different. She had such promise, didn't she?
